Junior Auxiliary of Ruston
Our Service Projects
Our Ruston chapter is excited to plan and execute projects that are all about uplifting our community, especially our amazing youth!

01
School Enrichment
Our School Enrichment program has provided services to over 5,000 students, teachers and staff. JA meets the needs of children at parish schools through the collaboration of community programs and sponsors.
Backpacks-for-Kids, organized by the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, ensures kids receive packaged, easy to open meals to last them through weekends and holidays. We sponsor a school each year to ensure these meals are promptly delivered to students.
We also participate in Adopt-A-School serving LPECC.
02
Christmas Clearinghouse
JA coordinates this annual project with help from our local citizens and Lincoln Parish school teachers. Children and their families are matched with churches, individuals, organizations, businesses, and clubs who wish to lend these families a helping hand.
Junior Auxiliary is able to utilize our community’s support to provide basic necessities such as clothing, jackets, and shoes/socks to these families. We had an absolute outpouring of support this past year from various businesses, institutions and local fire departments. They rallied around us to make sure every last child on the list was covered for Christmas.

03
Senior Up
This initiative, named Senior Up, aims to support both juniors and seniors by designing a personalized plan that addresses their unique needs. Our organization is dedicated to the youth in our community, working tirelessly to offer the resources, support, and encouragement necessary for them to evolve from high school graduates into responsible adults.
04
Betty Robbins Volunteer of the Year
The Betty Robbins Volunteer of the Year Award is an annual award presented to a Lincoln Parish resident who has made a difference in the lives of the children in our community. Betty Robbins was a former President of the local chapter, as well as the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA) and exhibited all the purposes of the Junior Auxiliary mission towards enriching the lives of children in the community.
